VBS – The Great Jungle Journey – Day 5: Consummation

Day 5 of The Great Jungle Journey was tree-mendous! Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this week an amazing success.

Today, we stopped at our third port of call – Consummation! We learned about how God wins and everything will go back to very good again when sin is no longer in the world.. The kids met our animal pal for the day, Bliss the birdwing butterly, who reminds us of how God’s people, in transformed bodies, will live in bliss in the new heaven and new earth. Today’s verse was Revelation 21:4 – “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” There is lots of great information at https://answersvbs.com/junglekids if you’d like to continue this discussion with your kids at home.

In Missions, the children learned about Marissa from right here in the United States, who is part of the invisible poor who receives free meals during the school year but doesn’t know where her next meal will come from during the summer. We urge the children to pray for families like Marissa’s who face hunger on a regular basis. Throughout this week, we have taken up an offering to benefit the Children’s Hunger Fund which provides meals to families like Marissa’s. Just one quarter provides one meal! Today, the boys raised $19.00 and the girls raised $33.75!

The two children in each class who said the most verses got to pie the VBS of worker of their choice today and we have some great footage of some of our favorite VBS workers getting a face full of whipped cream if you watch to the end of the re-cap video. We appreciate them being such good sports!
