We are children of the King. Our Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills. There are incredible benefits to being an heir to royalty. We have access to His wisdom and strength. We feel safe in His presence and secure in His Love. We trust Him to catch us when He asks us to jump and pick us up when we jump before we look. He is our protector, provider, counselor, encourager, guardian and so much more!
For many of us we looked to our earthly father for all these things before we knew our heavenly Father. He may not have owned a single cow on a single hill, but he tried his absolute best to be what we needed so desperately for him to be. The only evidence of the toll it took on him were the callouses and the patience that only come from years of hard work and sacrifice for someone you love. God had set the standard, and our father drew from His wisdom and strength to live up to it and in so doing pointed us to one who could give us even more than he did. This Father’s Day honor the men in your life who gave so much to show you the one who could give you so much more for eternity.
